Reading Goals 2021
2021-11-17
When I was a kid, I used to read books constantly. Almost every day, and barely a week would go by without me getting through some story. This changed when I went to college. Due to all of the homework assignments, extracurriculars, and, to be honest, a whole bunch of video games, my reading hobby fell to the wayside.
A few years ago, I started making goals for how many books I would read that year. I started out with ludicrously ambitious numbers, but the goals have become more reasonable in the past couple of years. And this year, I am actually on pace to reach it! My goal for the year was 20, and I am currently at 14 with about 6 weeks left in the year. A few of the books I have in my list are on the shorter end, so I think a pace of 1 book every week is very doable.
Though I am on pace, a majority of my progress came in the first few months of the year, and I have stalled out a bit lately. I just noticed I was close to my goal when I saw my list of resolutions from the beginning of the year. So, with that in mind, I am going to use this blog to keep me honest and keep me on track as I finish out my book reading goal for the year. I may do full book reviews, but I will definitely give summaries as I get through them.
In case anyone is curious about the list, below are the books that I have already gotten through this year, and the books that I am planning on being part of the final 6.
